I’ve always enjoyed creating videos. When I was young, I’d take my dad’s video camera and record whiffle ball games in my backyard. I took a few video classes in college and have taken advantage of every opportunity in my professional life to make videos. When I joined Vizulux in 2017, my video skills were immediately put to use, and when I moved on to Jabra, they were again a great asset for myself and my company. In fact, I’ve done more than 200 video projects of varying difficulty since I joined Jabra in 2019.
Below are a few examples of the videos I’ve made over the past few years as well as some radio ads I put together to promote a trade show in 2019. Oh yeah, I shot all the drone footage in the real estate videos, too.
When I took over the BlueParrott social media and Driver’s Club (email newsletter) there was not a whole lot to inherit. The newsletter was sparse and was sent very infrequently. One of my first moves was to create a series of short videos, called Parrot Talk, with each episode explaining something about BlueParrott. Although I’m not the on-camera talent, I script, edit and distribute these videos.
These videos started with new product launches, then, when COVID hit, transformed into a fun way to tell the Driver’s Club about new giveaways and have now evolved into a great way to recap trade shows we attend. Check out a few more examples below. Also, if you want to learn more about the work I’ve done with the Driver’s Club, click here.
Before I worked at Jabra, I spent 18 months working at a small advertising startup that specialized in construction and real estate branding. In addition to rebranding the New Hampshire Home Builders Association (read more about that here), we did full-stack marketing for new subdivisions which often included creating branded videos from scratch. The video to the right was created for Islington Commons, an 11-unit “enclave neighborhood” that was being built in the heart of Portsmouth, NH. The developers were looking for a way to differentiate themselves from other projects in the area, and this video helped them do just that.
Check out the videos below that I created (including shooting the drone footage) for a few other real estate projects.
